Introduction

Welcome to the Summer Research Fellowship Programme (SRFP) - 2026 application portal. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of this website and the application process for SRFP-2026 conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research ("JNCASR", "we", "us", or "our").

By accessing this website, submitting an application, and making payment of the application fee, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions along with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use this website or submit an application.

1. Programme Overview

The Summer Research Fellowship Programme (SRFP) is a prestigious national programme launched in 1991, offering science and engineering students a 2-month summer research placement at top institutes across India.

• Approximately 70 students are selected each year purely on merit
• Selected fellows receive a monthly fellowship of ₹10,000
• Research training in Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, or Engineering
• Placement at leading research institutes across India

2. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

2.1 Academic Eligibility

• Currently pursuing Undergraduate or Postgraduate programmes in Science or Engineering streams
• Must have obtained First Class in the previous semesters of the qualifying degree
• Minimum 65% marks in core subjects (10th & 12th standard)
• First Class in all completed semesters of current degree

2.2 Eligible Programmes

B.Sc., B.S., B.E., B.Tech, Int. M.Sc./BS–MS, M.Sc., M.E., M.Tech, MBBS, BVSc (as per discipline-specific year of study)

2.3 Verification

JNCASR reserves the right to verify all eligibility criteria and academic credentials. Any false information or fraudulent documents will result in immediate disqualification and potential legal action.

3. Application Process

3.1 Application Submission

• All applications must be submitted online through this official portal only
• Incomplete applications or applications received through other means will not be considered
• Applicants must provide accurate and complete information
• All required documents must be uploaded in the specified format

Applications must be submitted before the specified deadline. Late applications will not be accepted under any circumstances.

3.4 Document Requirements

• Recent passport-size photograph
• 10th and 12th standard marksheets
• All semester marksheets/transcripts of current degree
• Valid government-issued ID proof
• Any other documents as specified in the application form

4. Selection Process

4.1 Merit-Based Selection

• Selection is purely merit-based and competitive
• Academic performance, research interest, and overall profile will be evaluated
• Approximately 70 students will be selected
• JNCASR's selection decision is final and binding

4.2 Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on but not limited to:

• Academic excellence and consistency
• Research interest and aptitude
• Quality of application and supporting documents
• Diversity of disciplines and institutions

4.3 Results and Communication

• Results will be announced on the official website and via email
• Selected candidates will receive placement details and further instructions
• No individual correspondence will be entertained regarding selection status
• Waiting list may be maintained for unfilled positions

5. Fellowship Terms

5.1 Fellowship Amount

Selected fellows will receive a fellowship of ₹10,000 per month for the 2-month duration of the programme.

5.2 Placement

• Fellows will be placed at leading research institutes across India
• Placement will be based on research interests and availability
• Fellows must accept the assigned placement
• Change of placement will not be entertained except in exceptional circumstances

5.3 Fellow Obligations

• Complete the full 2-month duration at the assigned institute
• Maintain professional conduct and research ethics
• Follow the rules and regulations of the host institute
• Submit a research report at the end of the fellowship
• Attend mandatory programme activities and evaluation sessions

5.4 Termination

The fellowship may be terminated at any time for misconduct, violation of terms, poor performance, or any other reason deemed fit by JNCASR or the host institute.

6. User Obligations and Conduct

6.1 Account Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• You are responsible for all activities under your account

6.2 Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Submit multiple applications using different identities
• Attempt to manipulate or circumvent the application process
• Use automated systems or bots to access the website
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the website
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Misuse or unauthorized sharing of selection information or programme materials

6.3 Consequences of Violation

Violation of these terms may result in immediate disqualification, termination of fellowship (if selected), legal action, and/or permanent ban from future JNCASR programmes.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

7.1 Website Content

All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of JNCASR and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7.2 Research Outputs

Any research work, data, or intellectual property created during the fellowship period will be governed by the policies of the host institute and relevant laws. Fellows must acknowledge JNCASR and the host institute in any publications or presentations arising from the fellowship.

7.3 Application Content

By submitting your application, you grant JNCASR the right to use your application information for programme evaluation, selection, administration, and statistical analysis.

8. Payment Terms

8.1 Payment Gateway

All payments are processed through Razorpay, our secure payment gateway partner. By making a payment, you agree to Razorpay's terms and conditions.

8.2 Payment Confirmation

You will receive a payment confirmation email upon successful transaction. Please retain this for your records. Applications will be processed only after payment confirmation.

8.3 Payment Failures

In case of payment failure or technical issues, please contact our support team with transaction details. Do not make duplicate payments without confirmation.

8.4 No Refund Policy

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1 Website Availability

While we strive to ensure the website is available 24/7, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by website downtime, technical issues, or maintenance activities.

12.4 Final Decision

All decisions made by JNCASR regarding application, selection, fellowship, and related matters shall be final and binding. No appeals or reviews will be entertained.

13. Amendments to Terms

JNCASR reserves the right to modify, amend, or update these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
