IMPORTANT: NO REFUND POLICY

The application fee of ₹500 is STRICTLY NON-REFUNDABLE under all circumstances. Please read this policy carefully before making any payment.

Introduction

This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines the terms regarding payment of the application fee for the Summer Research Fellowship Programme (SRFP) - 2026 conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research ("JNCASR").

By proceeding with the payment of the application fee, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this No Refund Policy.

1. Application Fee

Application Fee: ₹500 (Rupees Five Hundred Only)

  • One-time, mandatory, non-refundable fee
  • Must be paid online through Razorpay payment gateway
  • Required for processing and evaluating your application
  • Payment confirmation required before application submission

The application fee covers the administrative costs of processing, evaluating applications, conducting merit-based selection, and maintaining the application portal infrastructure.

2. No Refund Policy

STRICTLY NO REFUNDS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

The application fee of ₹500 is 100% NON-REFUNDABLE

2.1 No Refund Scenarios

Under NO circumstances will refunds be provided, including but not limited to:

Application Withdrawal

If you decide to withdraw your application at any stage

Non-Selection

If you are not selected for the fellowship programme

Rejection Due to Ineligibility

If your application is rejected for not meeting eligibility criteria

Incomplete Application

If your application is incomplete or documents are missing

Change of Mind

If you change your mind after payment for any reason

Unable to Accept Fellowship

If selected but unable to join due to personal reasons

Duplicate/Multiple Payments

If you accidentally make multiple payments (see exception below)

Technical Issues

Any website technical issues or errors after successful payment

Programme Changes or Cancellation

If JNCASR modifies, postpones, or cancels the programme

Force Majeure Events

Natural disasters, pandemics, government orders, or any other unforeseen circumstances

Disqualification

If disqualified for providing false information or violating terms

Any Other Reason

Any other circumstances not explicitly mentioned above

⚠️ Important Notice

Payment of the application fee does NOT guarantee selection, placement, or fellowship. The fee is solely for application processing and evaluation. Selection is purely merit-based and competitive.

3. Exceptional Refund Cases (Very Limited)

Refunds will be considered ONLY in the following extremely limited circumstances:

3.1 Payment Gateway Errors

If money is deducted from your account but the transaction fails on the payment gateway and you do NOT receive a payment confirmation, and no application is created.

  • Must be reported within 48 hours of transaction
  • Requires proof of payment deduction (bank statement)
  • Refund processed within 7-14 working days after verification
  • Amount credited back to the original payment source

3.2 Duplicate Payments (Same Transaction)

If you accidentally make duplicate payments for the same application in a single session due to technical glitch.

  • Only the duplicate/excess payment will be refunded
  • Must be reported within 48 hours
  • Requires transaction IDs of both payments
  • Refund processed after verification within 7-14 working days

📝 Note:

These exceptional cases are strictly limited to technical/payment gateway failures only. All other refund requests will be automatically rejected without consideration.

4. Cancellation Policy

4.1 Application Cancellation by Applicant

You may withdraw your application at any time before the selection process is completed. However, the application fee will NOT be refunded under any circumstances.

4.2 Programme Cancellation by JNCASR

JNCASR reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or modify the SRFP-2026 programme due to unforeseen circumstances, force majeure, insufficient applications, or any other valid reason. In such cases:

  • No refunds will be provided for the application fee
  • Applicants will be notified via email and website announcement
  • JNCASR will not be liable for any compensation, damages, or losses
  • Applicants may be given preference in future programmes (at JNCASR's discretion)

4.3 Fellowship Cancellation (Post-Selection)

If a selected fellow is unable to accept or complete the fellowship for any reason, or if the fellowship is terminated by JNCASR/host institute, no refund of the application fee will be provided.

5. Payment Processing

5.1 Payment Gateway

All payments are processed through Razorpay, a secure PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, American Express)
  • Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, Maestro)
  • Net Banking (All major banks)
  • UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, etc.)
  • Digital Wallets (Paytm, Mobikwik, Freecharge, etc.)

5.2 Payment Confirmation

Upon successful payment, you will receive:

  • On-screen payment confirmation with Transaction ID
  • Email confirmation to your registered email address
  • Payment receipt (downloadable from your account)

Please save these for your records. Your application will be processed only after successful payment confirmation.

5.3 Payment Failures

If your payment fails, please:

  1. Check if the amount has been deducted from your account
  2. Wait for 30 minutes for payment gateway auto-reversal
  3. If amount deducted but no confirmation received, contact us within 48 hours
  4. Do NOT make duplicate payments without confirmation

5.4 Transaction Disputes

For any payment-related disputes, please contact our support team at srfp@jncasr.ac.in with the following information:

  • Full name and registered email
  • Transaction ID (if available)
  • Bank statement/payment proof
  • Date and time of transaction
  • Detailed description of the issue

6. Refund Process (For Exceptional Cases Only)

If your case qualifies for a refund under Section 3 (Exceptional Cases), follow this process:

Step-by-Step Refund Request Process:

  1. Report within 48 hours: Email srfp@jncasr.ac.in within 48 hours of the transaction
  2. Provide Required Documents:
    • Bank statement showing deduction
    • Screenshot of transaction failure/error
    • Transaction ID (if available)
    • Your registered name and email
  3. Verification: Our team will verify your claim within 5-7 working days
  4. Approval: If approved, refund will be initiated within 7-14 working days
  5. Credit: Amount will be credited to your original payment source (bank account/card)
  6. Bank Processing: Additional 5-10 working days for bank processing

  • Reporting: Within 48 hours of transaction
  • Verification: 5-7 working days
  • Refund Processing: 7-14 working days after approval
  • Bank Credit: Additional 5-10 working days
  • Total Duration: Up to 30 working days

  • Check confirmation email
  • Download and save payment receipt
  • Complete your application immediately
  • Keep transaction details for future reference
  • Check bank statement for deduction

9. Legal Disclaimer

  • This Refund and Cancellation Policy is part of the Terms and Conditions of SRFP-2026
  • JNCASR reserves the right to modify this policy at any time without prior notice
  • All decisions regarding refunds are at the sole discretion of JNCASR and are final
  • This policy is governed by Indian laws and subject to Bengaluru jurisdiction
  • Payment of application fee constitutes acceptance of this No Refund Policy
